So, I’ve never done one of these before, but this one looks interesting, and I love to talk about books, so here goes! June project!
Day 1: The best book you’ve read so far this year.
Okay, so I read a lot. Even before I became a librarian, I read a lot. My book total for the year so far is 51. So I’m going to limit this to new books I’ve read this year. And the best book I’ve read for the first time this year is probably Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper.
This is not necessarily my favoritenew book of the year, but it is, I think, the best (or it’s up there). It’s a first person narrative of a girl with cerebral palsy, who is treated as stupid because she can’t communicate. But we’re in her head, so we know just how smart she is and how trapped she feels. It’s very well done and a very thought-provoking read.
